The Recycling Process

Upon arrival the car is inspected and the marketable parts are put into an inventory database. The fuel, CFC's, antifreeze and oil is removed from the vehicle and reused or recycled. The battery and tires are then removed and recycled or reused depending on their condition. All useable parts are inventoried and some are removed and placed in storage racks for quicker access. When a vehicle can be of no more use it is then crushed and sent to a metal recycling plant to be melted down and recycled.

Automobile Recycling Information

The Automobile Recycling industry makes up 2.5 billion dollars worth of Canadian industry and provides local employment across Canada. Using recycled parts saves you money on vehicle insurance as the sales on recycled parts subtract from insurance companies total claims on totalled late model vehicles. Recycling vehicles also preserves natural resources. In Canada alone, 1.5 million vehicles are reclaimed and therefore saving an estimated 12 million barrels of oil which would be necessary for new part production. 75% of a vehicles content (by weight) is recycled, no other complex mass produced item has achieved such a high percentage.
